Two hospitals agree to a 31 million and 395 million settlement

106 civil lawsuits were filed against a Florida Medical center between 1997 and 2002 over alleged post-surgical infections following cardiac surgery. The settlement has been agreed at $31 million. Another hospital has agreed to a total settlement of $395 for claims stating that unnecessary heart surgeries and other procedures were performed between 1997 and 2002.
