The providers of Sanfaustino water claim that it is very high in calcium and 8 glasses of the water provides nearly 80% of the recommended daily intake for adults. It is also superior to other calcium sources in that it has no fat, calories or salt. They also claim that it contains more calcium than at least half of the foods listed in the new dietary guidelines as non-dairy calcium sources. Sanfaustino water is the only bottled water approved as a good source of calcium by the FDA. The benefit of obtaining calcium through drinking water is that small amounts are consumed regularly throughout the day.
