Woman's bowel cancer was not diagnosed until after her death

A woman went to hospital after suffering from stomach pains and diarrhea for 6 weeks. A barium enema revealed the cancer but it was not diagnosed. Her stomach became increasingly swollen and she was taken back to the hospital where they performed surgery to clear a massive bowel obstruction (which was later discovered to be bowel cancer) but she died the next day. Her daughter is now suing the hospital.
