Young children are susceptible to depression

On reflection, a mother realizes 2 of her children suffered from depression in grade school resulting in behavioural problems and general sadness. She believes an early diagnosis would have made growing up and adulthood much better. 12% of DuPage's population is believed to be suffering from depression. More than 10,000 children suffer or 1% are children. The condition is believed to be undiagnosed in many children as children are perceived as unlikely to suffer from depression.
