Glossary for Oligodendroglioma

  • Brain cancer: Cancer of the brain.
  • Brain conditions: Medical conditions that affect the brain
  • Cancer: Abnormal overgrowth of body cells.
  • Glioma: A rare type of tumor that occurs from glial cells that make up the central nervous system. These tumors usually occur in the brain but can also occur in the spinal cord and other nerves such as the optic nerve. Symptoms depend on the size and location of the tumor.
  • Head Conditions: Conditions that affect the head
  • Headache: In medicine a headache or cephalalgia is a symptom of a number of different conditions of the head and sometimes neck. Some of the causes are benign while others are medical emergencies. It ranks among the most common pain complaints
  • Increased intracranial pressure: Increased pressure inside the skull due to brain swelling or fluid accumulation
  • Movement symptoms: Changes to movement or motor abilities
  • Nervous system conditions: Diseases affecting the nerves and the nervous system.
  • Neurological system tumors: Tumors of the nerves or neurological system, whether cancerous or benign.
  • Seizures: A rare syndrome characterized by mental retardation, seizures and high levels of hydroxylysine in the urine.
  • Sensations: Changes to sensations or the senses
  • Vomiting: Vomiting or retching symptoms.
