Dorsal Carpometacarpal Ligaments: Dorsal carpometacarpal ligaments are ligaments made of fibrous connective tissue that connect the carpal bones of the wrist to the metacarpal bones of the hand. The dorsal carpometacarpal ligaments are located on the dorsal side, or back side of the carpals and metacarpals and help to form and stabilize the carpometacarpal joints.
Conditions that can directly or indirectly afflict the dorsal carpometacarpal ligaments include strains, sprains, ligament tears, arthritis, dislocations, and trauma.
