Extensor Digitorum Longus Tendons: The extensor digitorum longus tendons are paired bands of connective tissue made of collagen that connect the extensor digitorum longus muscles to bone. The extensor digitorum longus tendons enable the contracting extensor digitorum longus muscles to evert the feet, dorsiflex the ankles, and extend the second through fifth toes.

Conditions that can afflict the extensor digitorum longus tendons include inflammation of the extensor tendons of the toes, tendonitis, tears, rupture, and strains.
