IgA: IgA is a type of antibody, substances that fight harmful pathogens and microorganisms that can invade the body and cause problems to health, such as infections. IgA is found in secretions, such as tears, colostrum, and saliva, and the stomach, respiratory tract, and urinary tract. IgA prevents potentially dangerous microorganisms and other substances from reproducing to levels that can cause health issues. Conditions that can afflict the IgA include selective IgA deficiency, IgA nephropathy, HIV, and immunodeficiency.
