Nervous Tissue: Nervous tissue is a collection of specialized cells called neurons that make up the brain, spinal cord and nerves of the body. Nervous tissue has the specialized ability to react to and transmit impulses from a wide variety of stimuli to the organs of the body. Conditions that can afflict the nervous tissue include glioma, infection, trauma, cancer, neuromuscular diseases and inflammation.
