Posterior Sternoclavicular Ligament: The posterior sternoclavicular ligament is a ligament located in the upper chest where the breastbone meets the neck and the collarbone. The posterior sternoclavicular ligament consists of connective tissue and attaches the sternum to the clavicle. It helps to bind, protect and stabilize the sternoclavicular joint.
Conditions that can afflict the posterior sternoclavicular ligament include sternoclavicular joint dislocation, trauma, sprains, and ligament tears.
