Respiration: Respiration is a process in which gases are exchanged in the body to produce energy. During respiration, oxygen is transported from the air into the body and to the body's cells which produce energy from oxygen. There are two types of respiration: internal respiration and external respiration. The respiratory system and the circulatory system are both involved in respiration.
