Summary Information: Superior Glenohumeral Ligament

Superior Glenohumeral Ligament: The superior glenohumeral ligament is a paired ligament located in the shoulder and one of three glenohumeral ligaments. It is located toward the top of the shoulder joint and consists of connective tissue. The superior glenohumeral ligament attaches the humerus to the glenoid cavity in the scapula and helps to bind, protect and stabilize the shoulder joint.

Conditions that can afflict the superior glenohumeral ligament include shoulder dislocation, trauma, sprains, and ligament tears.
