- There is no cure but various symptomatic measures can be used e.g. avoid physical or emotional stress, antidepressants, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-anxiety medications and stimulants. Other therapies which may assist some patients includes cognitive behavioural therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic therapy, cranial-sacral techniques, hypnosis, massage therapy and stretching exercise programs. Patients tend to respond particularly well to psychostimulant medications
