This was a Sabouraud’s dextrose agar culture of Coccidioides immitis with chloramphenicol and cycloheximide after 2 wks.

Description
C. immitis causes the fungal disease coccidioidomycosis (CM), endemic to the southwestern US and parts of Central and South America. The disease is acquired by inhaling the arthroconidia of C. immitis present in the soil.
