Sacroilitis: Introduction

Inflammation of the sacroiliac joint which is located in the lower back. This particular joint (between the sacrum and illium) in the back has a very small range of motion compared to other joints and because of its location is under a lot of stress. Inflammation to this joint means that even the slightest movement involving the spine can cause pain and discomfort.
