Infections caused by the streptococcus bacteria. The two most common strains are streptococcus A and streptococcus B. Strep A can cause a number of conditions ranging from mild (e.g. impetigo, tonsillitis and strep throat) to severe (e.g. toxic shock syndrome and necrotizing fasciitis).
