Glossary for 11q Partial Trisomy

  • Chromosome 11, Partial Trisomy 11q: A very rare genetic disorder caused by a duplication of part of chromosome 11q. The characteristic symptoms of the disorder are delayed growth before and after birth, mental retardation (varying severity) and skull and facial defects. The type and severity of symptoms that can occur are variable.
  • Distal Trisomy 11q: A very rare genetic disorder caused by a duplication of part of chromosome 11q. The characteristic symptoms of the disorder are delayed growth before and after birth, mental retardation (varying severity) and skull and facial defects.   • Small head: The occurrence of a head which is smaller than normal
