Review: This book is a useful guide for parents in determining the cause of their child's symptoms. It covers the most common childhood symptoms in a chapter format. Each symptom is broken down into the most common possible causes which are then further discussed in terms of diagnosis and treatment. Information is provided on when and what tests should be ordered by the doctor; what the recommended treatment is and how it works; and when a visit to the specialist would be advisable. Case studies are used throughout the book. This book is probably not ideal as a quick reference but provides good information for parents about children's symptoms and how to go about determining what is causing the symptom.
