Glossary for Teratoma

  • Abdominal Pain: A condition which is characterized by the sensation of pain that is located in the abdomen
  • Benign tumor: A tumor or growth that remains localized; not always harmless.
  • Cancer: Abnormal overgrowth of body cells.
  • Dermoid cyst: Benign cystic tumor often containing skin, hair, and other tissue
  • Dysgerminoma: A rare form of cancer of the germ cells in the ovary. It is generally asymptomatic in the early stages. Prognosis with treatment is generally quite good.
  • Dyspareunia: Vaginal pain after sexual intercourse
  • Lump: Any type of lump on the skin or body areas
  • Ovarian Cancer: Cancer of the ovaries.
  • Pain: A feeling of suffering, agony, distress caused by the stimulation of pain fibres in the nervous system
  • Swelling symptoms: Symptoms causing swelling or enlargement.
  • Tenderness: The occurrence of the sensation of pain
