Glossary for Trigger finger

  • Dupuytren's contracture: A condition where the layer of connective tissue under the skin of the palm of the hand thickens and shrinks which can cause the fingers to bend in to the palms. The bent fingers are usually unable to be fully straightened.
  • Hand conditions: Any condition that affects the hand
  • Limb conditions: Medical conditions affecting the upper or lower limbs.
  • Musculoskeletal conditions: Medical conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system of bones, muscles and related structures.
  • Repetitive Motion Disorders: Any of various injuries caused by repetitive motion.
  • Repetitive Strain Injury: Various conditions with inflammation from repetitive movements.
  • Tendinitis: Inflammation of a tendon.
  • Upper limb conditions: Any medical condition affecting the upper limbs, i.e. the arms, elbows, hands, etc.
