Glossary for Trisomy 20 mosaicism

  • Chromosome 20, trisomy: A rare chromosomal disorder where there are three copies of chromosome 20 rather than the normal two which results in severe abnormalities and death.
  • Developmental problems: Physical or mental development difficulty.
  • Fetal death: The death of a fetus
  • Genetic Disease: Any disease that is handed down to oneself through the chromosomes of ones parents
  • No symptoms: The absence of noticable symptoms.
  • Poor growth: Poor body growth or delayed physical development.
  • Reduced amniotic fluid: Reduced amniotic fluid is a less than normal quantity of amniotic fluid, which protects and cushions a developing fetus during pregnancy.
