CA 50 tumor marker test

CA 50 tumor marker test: The CA 50 tumor marker test measures the blood level of cancer antigen 50, which is a carbohydrate present on the surface of certain cancer cells and released into the blood stream where they can be detected immunologically; this test is more useful for determining the effectiveness of treatment, rather than for cancer screening.
