Fetal fibronectin: The fetal fibronectin test measures the concentration of fibronectin in vaginal secretions; normally, fibronectin is plentiful in the amniotic sac and undetectable in the vaginal fluid after 22 weeks of pregnancy, thus its presence in the vagina may indicate eminent premature delivery.
