RBC nuclear scan: An RBC nuclear scan involves following radioactive-marked red blood cells (RBCs) through your body using a special gamma camera that takes pictures of the body area of interest and detects the small amount of radioactivity attached to the cells. This test may be performed to identify the source of profuse bleeding.
