Sporothrix schenckii test: The Sporothrix schenckii (S. schenckii) test is a laboratory test used to identify the S. schenckii fungal species from a human sample or cultured isolate derived from a human sample. S. schenckii infections are usually limited to the skin, although inhalation of the fungal spores can lead to pneumonia and the infection can spread to other parts of the body (e.g. central nervous system).
