Symptoms of a vaginitis caused by a yeast infection include severe itching and a thick white vaginal discharge that has the consistency of cottage cheese.

Symptoms of a vaginitis cause by trichomoniasis includes vaginal itching, burning with urination, and burning of the vaginal and genital area. Vaginitis cause by trichomoniasis and chlamydia genital herpes may produce no symptoms at all. Symptoms of a vaginitis caused by genital herpes may include pain and itching in the genital area and outbreaks of the development of blisters in the vagina.
