Vulvodynia: Introduction

Chronic discomfort of the vulva (external female genitals) which causes irritation or a burning or stinging sensation. The discomfort can range from mild to quite severe where sex is impossible and even sitting is painful. The condition usually starts suddenly and may continue for long periods of time, even years.
