Glossary for Andrade's syndrome

  • Abnormal walk: An abnormal walk is any type of gait that is irregular, unsteady, or unusual, possibly indicating pathology.
  • Autonomic neuropathy: A disorder of the nervous system concerned with regulation of activity of cardiac muscle, smooth muscle, and glands, usually restricted to the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems
  • Cardiomyopathy: Any disease of the heart muscle
  • Difficulty walking: Where ones has a problem with mobilizing on ones feet
  • Fasciculation: A condition which is characterized by involuntary muscular contractions visible under the skin.
  • Genetic Disease: Any disease that is handed down to oneself through the chromosomes of ones parents
  • Metabolic disorders: Disorders that affect the metabolic system in human
  • Nervous system conditions: Diseases affecting the nerves and the nervous system.
  • Orthostatic hypotension: Sudden low blood pressure when a person stands up or changes posture.
  • Peripheral neuropathy: Peripheral neuropathy is the term for damage to nerves of the peripheral nervous system, which may be caused either by diseases of the nerve or from the side-effects of systemic illness.
  • Wohlwill-Andrade syndrome: A form of amyloidosis that is inherited from the parents
