Glossary for Apallic syndrome

  • Agnosia: Agnosia is a loss of ability to recognize objects, persons, sounds, shapes, or smells while the specific sense is not defective nor is there any significant memory loss.
  • Anoxia: Lack of oxygen to the body's tissues.
  • Apraxia: A neurological disorder where the sufferer is unable to perform familiar actions such as tying shoelaces even though they understand the action required.
  • Brain conditions: Medical conditions that affect the brain
  • Lack of consciousness conditions: Conditions involving a loss of consciousness, faint, or similar.
  • Nervous system conditions: Diseases affecting the nerves and the nervous system.
  • Unresponsiveness: Poor response to questions or actions
