Glossary for Baber's syndrome

  • Ascites: Fluid accumulation in abdominal cavity
  • Blood conditions: Conditions that affect the blood
  • Congenital conditions: Any condition that you are born with such as birth defects or genetic diseases.
  • Dark skin: Darkening of the skin as a symptom
  • Digestive Diseases: Diseases that affect the digestive system
  • Fanconi syndrome: Fanconi syndrome that occurs secondary to the accumulation of crystals of light-chain immunoglobulin molecules in the kidney tubules which affects their functioning.
  • Fatigue: Excessive tiredness or weakness.
  • Fluid retention: Fluid retention in tissues
  • Hepatorenal tyrosinemia: A rare genetic metabolic disorder characterized by a deficiency of particular enzymes which prevents the breakdown of tyrosine which then builds up in the liver. Type 1 involves a deficiency of the enzyme fumaril acetoacetate hydrolase.
  • Jaundice: Bile or liver problem causing yellowness.
  • Liver conditions: Any condition that affects the liver
