Glossary for Chemical poisoning -- Selenium

  • Chills: Excessive feeling of coldness.
  • Eye irritation: A sensation or feeling of discomfort to the eye
  • Fever: Elevation of the body temperature above the normal 37 degrees celsius
  • Headache: In medicine a headache or cephalalgia is a symptom of a number of different conditions of the head and sometimes neck. Some of the causes are benign while others are medical emergencies. It ranks among the most common pain complaints
  • Metal exposure-related conditions: Medical conditions related to exposure to metals and metal compounds.
  • Poisoning, overdose or adverse reactions: Medical conditions related to poisons, drug overdosage, or drug adverse reactions.
  • Selenium poisoning: Excessive exposure to selenium. Selenium is essential to the diet in small amounts but is toxic in large amounts. Poisoning can occur through inhalation or ingestion.
  • Visual disturbance: Any disturbance to ones vision
