Difficulty breastfeeding- Sheehan's syndrome?

Decreased functioning of the pituitary gland following excessive blood loss during child birth is referred to as Sheehan’s syndrome. Severe blood loss results in decreased blood supply and death of parts of the pituitary gland. A very condition, it often escapes diagnosis as the symptoms can be vague and non-specific. A largely undiagnosed case of Sheehan’s syndrome may therefore present with hypothyroidism or even adrenal crisis brought about by stress and infection. Blood tests for hormone levels and CT scan help differentiate it from tumour of the pituitary gland aid in diagnosis.
