Ganglions are among the most common tumours of the hand and wrist. They may disappear spontaneously and recurrences are common. It is commonly mistaken for a lipoma, tenosynovitis, hamartoma, sarcoma and neuroma. It causes more of a cosmetic defect than anything else. Only in some cases they cause discomfort and dysfunction and surgical treatment is required. For most patients, observation, reassurance, or aspiration and/or injection suffice for treatment.
