Drug Causes of Endometrial Cancer

Medication causes:

Estrogen supplements, particularly in high doses, can lead to endometrial cancer, a cancer of the lining of the uterus. Most doctors now suggest lower doses of estrogen, along with a form of progesterone, for women who still have a uterus. The progesterone protects against this form of cancer. Women who have had their uterus and cervix removed can use estrogen alone. (Source: excerpt from Hormone Replacement Therapy Is It For You -- Age Page -- Health Information: NIA)

About medication causes:

Another misdiagnosis possibility is that a particular medication or substance may be the real cause of the disease. Certain medications, chemicals, toxins or substances may possibly be underlying causes of Endometrial Cancer. Side effects of medications, or exposure to toxins, chemicals, or other substances may cause a symptom or condition. Hence, they become possible underlying causes of Endometrial Cancer but are often misdiagnosed or overlooked as a cause. For a general overview of this misdiagnosis issue, see Medication Underlying Cause Misdiagnosis.
