Glossary for Ferlini-Ragno-Calzolari syndrome

  • Arachnoid Cysts: A rare disorder involving a fluid-filled cysts on the arachnoid membrane which is one of the thin layers of tissue that form a membrane which covers the spinal cord and brain. The type and severity of symptoms is determined by the size and location of the cyst.
  • Head Conditions: Conditions that affect the head
  • Hydrocephalus: A rare condition where the normal flow of cerebrospinal fluid is impaired by dilated brain ventricles which causes the fluid to accumulate in the skull and hence result in increased brain pressure.
  • Mental health conditions: Medical conditions related to mental health, emotions, behavior, personality, psychology, psychiatry, and so on.
  • Nervous system conditions: Diseases affecting the nerves and the nervous system.
  • Psychotic Behaviour: Inability or opposition to recognize and accept reality and to relate this to others.
  • Skeletal anomalies: Skeletal anomalies refers to deformities or malformations of the bones.
