  • Bacterial diseases: Diseases caused by a bacterial infection
  • Bioterrorism: The use of biological warfare for the use of terrorism
  • Burkholderia pseudomallei: Gram negative, aerobic, motile rod shaped bacterium.
  • Ceftazidime -- Teratogenic Agent: There is evidence to indicate that exposure to Ceftazidime (an antibiotic) during pregnancy may have a teratogenic effect on the fetus. A teratogen is a substance that can cause birth defects. The likelihood and severity of defects may be affected by the level of exposure and the stage of pregnancy that the exposure occurred at.
  • Chills: Excessive feeling of coldness.
  • Conditions involving a pathogen: Medical conditions involving some type of pathogen, such as a virus or bacteria.
  • Cough: The noise produced from the sudden expulsion of air from the lungs
  • Death: The cessation of life
  • Diseases contagious from contaminated water: Diseases that can be contracted from contaminated water
  • High fever: Where a patient has an elevated temperature
  • Liver abscess: Pus in the liver
  • Meningitis: Dangerous infection of the membranes surrounding the brain.
  • Pneumonia: Infection of the lung by bacteria, viruses or fungus.
  • Pseudomonas pseudomallei: A form of pseudomonas
  • Septic shock: serious medical condition caused by decreased tissue perfusion and oxygen delivery as a result of infection and sepsis, though the microbe may be systemic or localized to a particular site
  • Septicemia: A systemic inflammatory response to an infection.
  • Shortness of breath: The feeling of being short of breath
  • Ulcer: A local defect in the mucosa
