Crown

Summary Information: Crown

Crown: A crown is a type of dental filling used to cap a missing tooth or parts of the tooth to restore structure and function. A crown is designed after making a dental impression of the patient's bite, or using computer-aided design and manufacturing. A crown may be fitted over the remaining tooth (e.g. after a root canal) or over a dental implant embedded into the jaw.
