Summary Information: Palladium-103

Palladium-103: Palladium-103 (103Pd) is a radioactive isotope of palladium that is housed in tiny metal rods (seeds) implanted inside the body for certain lengths of time to treat cancer during a process referred to as brachytherapy. For example, many radioactive 103Pd seeds are implanted next to the prostate gland for several months to treat prostate cancer.
