Porcelain-fused-to-metal crown

Summary Information: Porcelain-fused-to-metal crown

Porcelain-fused-to-metal crown: A porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crown is a porcelain and metal dental filling used to cap a missing tooth or parts of the tooth to restore structure and function. A crown is designed after making a dental impression of the patient's bite. A crown may be fitted over the remaining tooth (e.g. after a root canal) or over a dental implant embedded into the jaw. PFM crowns provide good color matching and are more durable than all porcelain crowns.
