Product liability

Product liability: Legal liability from an injury due to the failings of a product

Product liability: Product liability is an area of law usually related to the circumstances where an injury is caused to a person from some failure in a physical product. For example, if a child is injured by a toy, the child's parent might initiate a lawsuit alleging product liability against the toy manufacturer (or other related party). Product liability can also come into play in disease-related litigation such as in an asbestos lawsuit or mesothelioma lawsuit (mesothelioma is a rare lung cancer related to asbestos).
