Description of Annexin

Annexin: family of proteins which bind phospholipids in the presence of calcium, believed to mediate intracellular calcium's role in membrane fusion and related events such as exocytosis; lipocortin and endonexin may also function extracellularly as inhibitors of phospholipase and blood coagulation.
