Description of Histocompatibility antigen

Histocompatibility antigen: group of antigens that includes major histocompatibility antigens, genetically determined by the major histocompatibility complex, which determine tissue type for transplantation and cause allograft rejection; and minor histocompatibility antigens, systems of allelic alloantigens that can cause weak transplant rejection.

Histocompatibility antigen: A group of antigens that includes both the major and minor histocompatibility antigens. The former are genetically determined by the major histocompatibility complex.
