Description of Mantoux test

Mantoux test: A test for immunity to tuberculosis where tuberculin is injected under the skin and any resulting reaction is noted.

Mantoux test: A protein extracted from boiled culture of tubercle bacilli (MYCOBACTERIUM TUBERCULOSIS). It is used in the tuberculin skin test (TUBERCULIN TEST) for the diagnosis of tuberculosis infection in asymptomatic persons.
