Description of Syringomyelocele

Syringomyelocele: A disorder where a cyst forms in the spinal cord. The cyst continues to grow, destroying the middle of the spinal cord. This results in pain, weakness and stiffness in the back, shoulders, arms or legs. Headaches and a lack of awareness of temperature may also result.
