90% of sinusitis cases misdiagnosed

One expert claims that up to 90% of sinusitis cases are misdiagnosed and people are unnecessarily taking antibiotics and thus developing resistance. He claims that most sinusitis can be attributed to migraine, dental problems or reflux disease. He believes that an accurate diagnosis can be done by using a fiber-optic scope or have a nasal discharge sample analyzed. Even the NIH claims that antibiotics should only be used when bacteria is the cause of the sinusitis.
