97% of Ohio celiac sufferers are undiagnosed

A woman suffered from celiac disease for more than 25 years before she was diagnosed. She thought her symptoms were related to dairy intolerance or stress. Another mother noticed her baby started having trouble once solids were introduced severe constipation and trouble keeping food down. Tests confirmed celiac diasease. Diarrohoea and weight loss are the most common symptoms of the disease. Officials believe only about 3% of celiacs in Central Ohio are diagnosed.
