A physician told a mother of a 7 week old girl that she was fine when she was brought in after suffering with difficulty breathing and had turned blue. She was misdiagnosed with having a common cold when her symptoms persisted for two weeks. Her coughing became worse and she had trouble eating. Doctors thought she had pneumonia. Eventually doctors tested her for whooping cough and provided antibiotics which were ineffective due to the severity of the case and her heart, lungs and kidneys failed.
