Crestor manufacturers warned to stop advertising the drug

The FDA has requested that the manufacturers of Crestor stop publishing advertisements for the products. Astra Zeneca said it already had stopped and anyway, the product was as safe as any of the other statins available. The FDA believes that the patient directed advertising may not fully disclose all the risks associated with the drug. Crestor was designed to be used to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in those who have failed to lower them through diet and exercise alone.
