CSR pays out 345 million in asbestosis claims

A man who worked in a Western Australian asbestos mine owned by CSR was diagnose with asbestosis in the 1980's and knew many people who died of related diseases. An estimated 20,000 people lived near the mine and may have been exposed to asbestos. CSR has paid out $345 million in claims related to asbestos in Australia and the US. This amount covered about 128,000 cases.
