Epilepsy patients are more likely to suffer from depression claim researchers. A study found that 36.5% of epilepsy patients had some symptoms of depression and these people were less likely to benefit from medication and had more social problems as a result. Doctors treating epilepsy need to be aware of the risk of depression so they can provide treatment and hence improve the patients quality of life.
